Vibration training was originally developed for building up the muscles and increasing the bone density of Soviet cosmonauts.
This made it possible for them to stay in orbit for up to 420 days when American astronauts had to give up after only 120 days due to degeneration of muscles and bones.

With Vibrafit, BMS (sometimes called "whole body vibration") is now available to everyone.

Muscles also vibrate during sleep! Biomechanical Muscle Stimulation makes use of the well-known fact that the muscle fibres of the body vibrate constantly at a varying frequency (muscle tone). These muscular micro-vibrations were first demonstrated by the Austrian neuropathologist ROHRACHER in 1943.

These movements create a process of oscillation in the tendons which has a wide range of frequencies and which is also detectable in a state of complete rest. Two familiar examples of this phenomenon are as follows. When the arm is stretched forward, the fingertips tremble slightly, and when you are cold, you start to shiver (natural increase in the muscle tonicity).
